Marlene R. Woods, 65
COSHOCTON - Marlene R. Woods, 65, of Cassingham Hollow Drive, Coshocton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at the James Cancel Institute in Columbus, after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born Feb. 1, 1942, in Muskingum County, to Marjorie Hayden Sandel of Coshocton and the late Russell Sandel. On April 7, 1963, she married Robert Woods, who survives. Marlene was a mail carrier for the Coshocton Post Office for 30 years until she retired in 2000. She was a avid bowler and loved gardening and travel.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by son, Dale (Lynn) Woods of Iowa; daughter, Jodi (Clayton) Brown of Coshocton; five grandchildren, Chris (Ashley) Brown, Tyler Gulliams, Matt West, Hayden Woods and Morgan Woods; great-granddaughter, Taylor Nicole Brown; and mother and father-in-law, Norman and Alice Woods of Coshocton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Sandel; and a grandson, Jeffrey Dickerson.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Given-Dawson Funeral Home in Coshocton.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at the funeral home with Pastor Jay Jackson officiating.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the James Cancer Institute; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
